Independence Day of Ukraine on Swansea Castle Square

Our celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine in Swanseа was just amazing!

Plenty of positive emotions, many friends, vibrant performances, happy children, unforgettable flavours of Ukrainian cuisine, and unique souvenirs!

Our dancers, singers, and musicians left no one indifferent. The delicious food prepared by our wonderful volunteers simply “flew away,” down to the last piece of cake! The same wonderful fate befell the souvenirs and paintings!

Children immersed themselves in a world of entertainment: colouring and face painting, braided hair and temporary tattoos, chalk drawings on the pavement and crafts, as well as a dance flash mob—two hours passed unnoticed!

Our yellow-blue balloon arch was a popular spot for photography.

We created a massive Chain of Unity, becoming part of a global Ukrainian flash mob. And, of course, the weather was enchanting, as if the Sun came to greet its Sunflowers!

Many thanks to Austin Bailey Foundation Swansea, Localgiving, and Swansea Council for financial support to organise this wonderful event!

Thank you to the Leader of Swansea Council Rob Stewart, the Mayor of Llandeilo Christoph Fischer, and the Swansea Council Cabinet member Alyson Pugh for coming and for the touching speeches!

Many thanks to Helen Clancy, Emily Bollington, Lara Rowlands, and Sali Thomas from Swansea Council for supporting the logistics of this event!

Many thanks to Tatyana Marshtupa and Sofiya Abramchuk-Hussey for running the event! Thank you to all our dancers for rousing performances, and especially to Lyudmyla Kazmiruk for the amazing dancing flash mob with children!
